The Footloose Program

12 or more sailing events are schedule each season from May through September every other Saturday.  We will have 8 day sails at the North Leschi Marina on Lake Washington at 400 Lake Washington Blvd. E. just north of Daniel’s Broiler.  Day sails run from noon until 5 p.m.  Our fleet of eight sailboats is designed for safe and fun sailing and can accommodate a wide range of disabled people.

In mid August we partner with The Center for Wooden Boats on Lake Union for sailing on Saturday and Sunday.  CWB is located at the south end of Lake Union at 1010 Valley Street.

Blake Island Overnight Cruise

The ever-popular weekend cruise to Blake Island on Puget Sound is held the weekend after the 4th of July. We sail from Elliot Bay Marina to Blake Island on Saturday and return the next day.  Dinner and show at Tillicum Village (optional) is usually well attended.  A beach-side marshmallow roast ends the day. 28 to 52 members attend the event.

Look for the Signup time mid June to end of June. Space is limited to the number of boats available, which can change from year to year, so contact us with YOUR paid reservation.

Volunteers

Volunteering for Footloose is one of the most rewarding experiences you can have.  And you don’t have to be an experienced sailor to serve as a volunteer.  You can help with registration and operations or be a dock escort.  Our experienced all-volunteer staff will teach you the ropes and along the way you’ll learn about sailing yourself.  Come join us. Email to volunteer@footloosesailing.org
