In order to provide a safe and fun outing, Footloose uses for upwards to 20 volunteers for each day sail.
We offer day sails almost every other saturday From the beginning of May through September. This requires many persons, both able bodied (ABS) and some with disabilities, to perform all the tasks for a smooth event.
Skippers:
All Footloose Skippers must be CPR certified and pass a practical test. As a American Sailing Association chartered school, we use those test standards to certify skippers. You can be certified to skipper a dinghy, the martin 16's, a keelboat, or all vessels, including our safety boat.
Skippers must have accreditation with any of the following:
US Coast
Guard, US Sailing, American Sailing Association, equivalent from an
international or foreign country, and/or sailing experience with a log
as proof. We also require demonstration of sailing skills, experience,
vessels, and responsibilities aboard.
